An unapologetically twisted tale that holds nothing back and then some.

Sometimes when I'm reading or watching something particularly disturbing, I enjoy picturing my abuelita's reaction to what I'm reading or watching. Most things of the modern age would offend her but my choice to read AND FINISH this book would have made her question my mental state. This book is disgusting by my own standards, which is saying something as I love horror movies in particular. I wanted to branch out this year and read more horror books and this is my first extreme horror book.

A necrophiliac and a cannibal become lovers while working in the same hospital. The plot is creative, but the book reads like bad fanfiction. Dark humor and mentions of writers such as Bukowski give the story a witty edge. There is some deeper dialogue about non-conformity and society but it becomes repetitive and shallow after a while. The "twist" at the end was pretty predictable, however its execution was gory in a way that most horror fans I think would enjoy. I will NEVER look at white sheets the same EVER again.
